Dean’s six and he’s nuzzling his nose with two-year-old Sammy’s, making the child giggle and grab at him.
“Gonna like you for always,” Dean promises, smiling widely at his brother.
And suddenly Sam’s staring at him seriously, laughter ceased. He throws himself into Dean’s arms, and cries out, “De!” He starts crying a little.
Dean hugs his brother tight and says softly, “I’ll give you my favorite toy if you stop crying, Sammy!”
Twenty one years later, Dean gives away his soul so Sam stops bleeding.
